Review of the 2024/2025 School Year
- Educational Projects:
The year was marked by the diversity and dynamism of educational projects. Notably, financial support of 1.3 million yen from private donors and companies enabled the completion of the beehive project.
- School Trips:
A total of 790,985 yen in aid was granted to 31 out of 35 primary school applicants. The proceeds from the FLT flea market have been used to support the solidarity fund, which has been especially relied upon this year due to the resumption of secondary school trips.
- School Staff:
Thanks to Ms. Knezevic, who is leaving the school. The replacement rate for absent French teachers reached 99%, thanks to a team of 13 substitutes.
- Support for Special Needs Students:
24 PAI, 32 PPRE, 19 PAP, 15 PPS, 10 students assisted by an AESH, and 30 students received therapeutic care. Teachers confirm that the EBEP reference teacher position, created a year ago, has proven very useful.
- FLSco:
40 students received FLSco support, with a notable increase in numbers in cycle 3.
- Inclusive School:
Two “inclusive school café meetings” were organized by FLT and the Lycée, with a third scheduled online for June 19.
- Basketball Hoops:
Teachers thank the parents who, through the FLT raffle, have funded basketball hoops for the annex. These have been very popular among both boys and girls.
Preparation for the 2025 School Year
- Structure and Expected Enrollment:
Stable numbers in kindergarten, CM1, and CM2, but a decrease in CP, CE1, and CE2. Closure of one kindergarten class and one CP class, renumbering of classes (M1 to M7), with average class sizes expected to be 22-26 students.
- Language Programs:
55% of students are enrolled in an enhanced language program. Japanese sections remain stable.
- School Staff:
No new teaching staff expected.
- EVAR:
Three annual sessions of Education on Emotional and Relational Life will be implemented, in accordance with official recommendations.
- Projects:
Proposal to host the Asia Chess Cup in May 2026 (9 schools already interested).
- School Inclusion:
Presentation of a Support System for School Inclusion, intended to address the needs of students from CP to 3ème, who have recognized disabilities. The proposal was adopted by a majority (13 for, 5 abstentions).
FLT have supported the project and welcome the significant progress this would bring for the families concerned and the school’s attractivity and reputation.
Miscellaneous Questions from FLT
- Enrollment and School Transport:
240 students registered for the bus service in 2025-2026 (260 in 2024-2025), with no changes to fares or main routes.
- Swimming Lessons:
The differences of schedules between Standard and SI/Parle students in the same class that have affected swimming classes will be adjusted for 2025/2026
The cleanliness of the pool is monitored daily.
- Language Pathways:
The absence of a Pre-Parle Japanese section in kindergarten is justified by the priority given to French acquisition. The possibility of opening such a section will be considered if there is sufficient demand.
- Communication with Language Teachers:
Parents would like a better presentation of language teachers’ content and methods. The Lycée proposes to organize two online meetings for English and Japanese at the beginning of the school year and in April, before option choices for the following year.
- After-School Care:
The catering service offered by Cezars Kitchen will not be continued due to insufficient demand.
- Road Safety:
At the request of FLTs, the Lycée is studying the feasibility of prevention workshops organized with local authorities.
