Notre lecture de contes est supportée par le Centre du livre jeunesse canadien (http://www.bookcentre.ca/programmes), un organisme pancanadien à but non lucratif, fondé en 1976 pour encourager, promouvoir et soutenir la lecture, l’écriture, l’illustration et la publication de livres canadiens destinés aux jeunes lecteurs.
Ce très beau livre pour enfants raconte une histoire vraie et très connue. Un jour, le violoniste renommé américain Joshua Bell a décidé de donner un concert gratuit sur un quai de métro à Washington. Plus de mille passagers sont passés devant lui en se dépêchant, mais seulement sept personnes se sont arrêtées une minute ou plus pour écouter la musique.
The « Man with the Violin » a été écrit par Kathy Stinson, auteure de plusieurs best-sellers. C’est un conte qui réchauffe le cœur en nous rappelant qu’il y a de la beauté partout autour de nous si nous voulons nous arrêter pour l’apprécier.

The E. H. Norman Library is delighted to present a book reading session for children “The Man with the Violin”, January 28, 2015 from 16:30 to 17:30 in the Library reading room.
Our book reading session is supported by the Canadian Children’s Book Centre (http://www.bookcentre.ca/), a national not-for-profit organization founded in 1976 to encourage, promote and support the reading, writing, illustrating and publishing of Canadian books to young readers.
This gorgeous picture book is based on the true story of Joshua Bell, the renowned American violinist who famously took his instrument down into the Washington D.C. subway for a free concert. More than a thousand commuters rushed by him, but only seven stopped to listen for more than a minute.
In “The Man with the Violin”, bestselling author Kathy Stinson has woven a heart-warming story that reminds us all to stop and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.

カナダ大使館図書館では、カナダの図書の読書会を定期的に開催しています。大使館に勤務するカナダ人外交官やその家族が、カナダの公用語である英語やフランス語でカナダの様々な図書を通してカナダをご紹介します。図書を読むだけでなく、ビデオを見るなどのアクティビティーを交え、楽しみながら英語やフランス語に親しみ、カナダについての理解を深めていただくことができます。
この読書会は、カナディアン・チルドレンズ・ブック・センター（http://www.bookcentre.ca/）（英）の支援を受けています。このセンターは、若い読み手に対してカナダの本を読み、書き、挿絵を描き、また出版することを奨励、促進し、支援をするために1976 年に設立された国営の非営利目的組織です。
この素晴らしい絵本は、実在する、ジョシュワ・ベルという名高いアメリカ人バイオリニストのお話です。
彼は、ワシントンDCの地下鉄の駅で、バイオリンのコンサートをしていたことで有名です。１，０００人以上の通勤客が足早に通り過ぎ、そのうちの、たった7人だけが、立ち止まり、彼の演奏をしばらくの間、聞きました。
