Dear LFI Tokyo teachers,

     This is with great sorrow that we recieived the news of a teacher has fallen victim of terrorism in France. Samuel Paty was a History&Geography professor at   Bois-d’Aulne Junior High School, in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine (France). Shocked, Mr Paty died because he believed in the importance of helping pupils to make their own opinion even on controversial topics, promote laicity and freedom of conscience.

     As Parents’ Association, we pay tribute to Mr Paty’s commitment to the pupils and we reaffirm our opposition to all those fanning the flames of hatred. We offer our sincere condolences to his family, to his pupils and to his colleagues. 

    We also want to express our support  and unwavering solidarity to all teachers of the LFI Tokyo, of the AEFE and in France.
