Dear Parents,

The first part of the school year is coming to an end and the fall vacations fast approaching!

It has been a busy time for the association and the families of the school. 

We have been able to meet many of you during the pre-school and back-to-school meetings at the lycée, as well as during the lycée-cafés organized in September. 

The FLT also chose to hold its annual general meeting in person. It was an opportunity to present our accomplishments and projects for the coming year, in addition to the usual obligations linked to this exercise. It was a success with about 50 families participating, both old and new. The vote was held online allowing the 161 members up to date with their subscription to approve the association’s moral and financial reports, as well as the composition of the new board (participation rate of 58.6%).

Jessica will therefore take on the presidency of the association, accompanied by Celia vice-president for the primary school and André vice-president for the secondary school. Severin and Laurent will keep their roles, respectively secretary and treasurer. PF and Hugo, also president of the Fapée, will now sit on the board of directors. Maxence will be in charge of communications on social networks. Madoka and François will join the board to cover the theme of Japanese language teaching alongside Simon among others. Virginie will work in particular on the language reform  in secondary school, Colombe will be in charge of the canteen commission, Daphné continues her action within the FLT ecoteam (follow the Facebook page of the FLT ecoteam to not miss any news). Aurélie will lead the inclusive school working group, Stéphanie will lead the French language working group. JB will reinforce our team on the subject of relations with Japanese-speaking families with Thomas  among others. He will coordinate in particular translations into Japanese and make the link with the Association des français du Japon. Vincent and René, our former presidents, are active on various topics such as the school council, partnerships and language policy. Several of the association’s working groups have dedicated email addresses, the list of which appears in our Directory on the home page of our website.

We are all parent volunteers with diverse backgrounds giving some of our time to the educational community!

Alongside the association’s board, other parents are also committed to representing you on the school’s governing bodies, the primary school council and the LFIT school council. The elections were organized by the school with an online vote offered to each parent from October 5 to 7, 2022.

The participation, around 30%, is not bad compared to other schools, but could be better! We thank those who voted and even more those who supported us 😉

Please note that the first school councils will take place right after the vacations, so don’t hesitate to send us your questions via this form before the holidays! The primary school director will meet with the newly elected parent representatives of the school council for a preparatory meeting on Thursday, October 20, 2022.

We are planning our next lycée-café international at Minami Aoyama’s Share Green on Wednesday, November 30th from 10am to noon, an opportunity to meet members of the association, other parents and to ask all your questions concerning the school, the elective courses… Please register HERE.
